Munster String Quartet

The Munster String Quartet is Ireland’s most exciting Pop string quartet! In a nutshell, if it’s trending, we’ll play it! Bridgerton is particularly popular at the moment and we are enjoying performing this sound track at events all over Ireland!

MSQ is a flexible ensemble. Managed by well known pianist and violinist, Mary McCague, clients can book from Solo, Duo, Trio and Quartet options. Piano and Flute can also be included in the mix and we have a number of wonderful singers in various locations around the country who we love working with too! Electric violin with backing tracks is another increasingly popular option for receptions.

All performers with the quartet are professional freelance musicians and Masters of their instruments.
We perform all the classics but also have a  very extensive repertoire to choose from.
Aside from the quality of the musicians, what makes MSQ really stand out is the quality of our arrangements. Mary has personally arranged most of the music and has built up a very impressive catalogue, which can be downloaded from www.munsterstringquartet.com. What a lot of people don’t realise is that a lot of string quartets read from piano scores. MSQ works from properly arranged scores for strings and this makes a massive difference to the quality of the music as the parts are written to suit the instruments.
