Description

Humanist wedding ceremonies are always unique and distinctive because they put you – the couple – at the centre of the ceremony. We have been legally solemnising marriages since 2013 and since then, we have carried out thousands of wedding ceremonies.

Our ceremonies are designed to be very personal and meaningful; they are about you as a couple celebrating your love for each other and making your commitment to one another, in the company of those closest to you, with appropriate well-chosen words, readings and music in a place of your choosing. You can include some symbolic rituals in your ceremony – such as hand fasting, unity candle, sand ceremony, jumping the broom, wine ceremony or time capsule. There are no limits except your imagination.

We have more than 50 accredited celebrants, serving all 26 counties. All our celebrants are registered marriage solemnisers, who can carry out the legal aspects of your ceremony. Humanist celebrants can marry you at any time of the day, or any day of the week, month or year and your ceremony can take place in any venue, including outdoors, so long as it is open to the public and clearly identifiable by an address.

Our ceremonies are non-religious, and the HAI is the only approved body to carry out secular wedding ceremonies in the State. This is important, as some celebrants claim to offer non-religious ceremonies, even though they are part of a religious organisation.

If you are looking for a uniquely crafted wedding ceremony, which is secular in nature, a humanist wedding ceremony may be just right for you.
